ABOUT THIS PROJECT

This proposal aims to integrate Kato Pafos archaeological sites in a wider pedestrian and cyclist network of routes, squares, a footbridge and urban infrastructure to generate the use of public space. The organic flow of this pedestrian and cyclist circulation was significant parameter for the form-finding of the different parts with an array of proposals ranging between small and large scale. The 3rd award was given because of the flexibility of design and the methodological approach of solution that can accomodate different senarios for the future. Special attention was given to the coexistence of simple and more complex design strategies to facilitate both functionality with economic solutions and avant-garde design of landmark infrastructure in the city like the footbridge.
